A gorgeous ritual practice of whole body prayers. 108 prostrations (Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutations) as an act of devotion and reverence. We practice the Sun Salutations in a different way that embodies their origin, the full body prostrations of spiritual pilgrims traversing from home to holy places. Each step as an act of devotion.
We break it into 4 rounds of dedication with pauses for introspection and intention.
This was my 18th year and definitely amongst my all time favorites. I love the changes. And this year on Jan 15 it coincided with Makar Sankranti, a Hindu celebration of Surya, the Sun as the dispeller of darkness (ignorance) and the rising sun within us all. So we were part of millions of like minded people making this offering on this day!
