Journal prompts, in no particular order, gravitate to where your curiosity draws you, these are not intended to all be answered, some are questions I wrote up and some came up in the course of discussion in the Satsang.
1) How does the absence of urgency (life or death conditions) impact your planning ahead for your optimal wellbeing?
2) What consequences have you experienced by not honoring the different energies and demands of each season of the year?
3) How do transitions provide you with essential information (or how could they?)
4) How do transitions give you an opportunity to prepare for what comes next?
5) What have been the costs of living at essentially the same pace all year long (with added expectations at the holidays!)
6) How will you prepare for your winter walk?
7) How could you begin to normalize a natural downshift in the winter?
8) What makes you feel best in your winter walk?
9) What feels most like an obligation during the winter/holidays?
10) What do you dread during the winter/holidays?
11) What do you love most during the winter/holidays?
12) What will your "mise en place" look like in preparation for your winter walk this year?
13) The contestants on Alone: Arctic Circle didn't wait until they were freezing to start gathering firewood. What is YOUR firewood?
14) What are the things that reliably help you feel well, connected, grounded and most like your best self?
15) Which of those things are the first to dissapear when life gets busy and full over winter?
16) What is essential to your well-being and what form can it take in the season ahead?
17) What needs protecting?
18) What can bend (All or Something approach)?
19) What needs to go, even if just temporarily?
20) What usually happens to me during the darker months?
21) What tends to fall away?
22) What helps me flourish?
23) What do I genuinely enjoy about this season?
24) What drains me every single year?
25) What needs to be protected?
26) What could change?
27) What could I release?
28) What habit do you feel inspired to NOT repeat this year?
29) What's a boundary you have time to plan, prepare and play out (forecast it) now?
30) What do you notice in yourself as the seasons begin to change?
31) What does this time of year tend to bring up for you?”
32) What part of this idea of preparing for the season ahead resonated with you most, or made you think about seasonal transitions differently?
33) WHAT DO I WANT TO HAVE GATHERED BEFORE I NEED IT?
Expound on any of those journal prompts or more simply identify:
• One habit you want to protect.
• One expectation you can loosen.
• One relationship you want to tend.
• One thing you can begin doing differently as the season changes.
• One thing you want to gather before you need it.
